We have a stroke patient’s perspective on healthcare from Marcia Moran on this episode of the Perspectives on Healthcare Podcast with Rob Oliver. Marcia lives in Northern Virginia with her husband. She is a member of the Baby Boomer generation. She suffered a stroke back in 2014.

Here are 3 things that stood out as Marcia Moran shared a stroke patient’s perspective on healthcare:

· When she was released from rehab after her stroke, she was done with physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and every other therapy. She was where she needed to be, it was because her insurance company said she was done.
· You can lower your risk of stroke by leading a healthy lifestyle: eat healthy, exercise and low to no alcohol consumption.
· Marcia classifies holistic practitioners as “Healthcare Heroes” because they are looking at the entire individual, not just their presenting issue.
